Across the country, young voters overwhelmingly believe in the freedom to marry for same-sex couples—and that reigns true among Republicans too. A new poll released by Pew Research Center shows that 61 of Republicans under the age of 30 support marriage for gay and lesbian couples, while only 35% oppose. Similarly, 77% of younger Democratic voters support the freedom to marry.
Just last week, a newly-released PPP poll showed that across the state, Arizonans favor the freedom to marry by an 8-point margin. This poll, coupled with Pew’s poll this week, makes one thing clear: support for marriage is on the rise—and securing marriage for all loving couples is no longer a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.
