Meet Arizona Latinos for Marriage: Bettina Nava

BettinaBettina Nava is a proud Arizona native, who has spent years working in the public and private sectors in policy and strategy.

“Government’s role is to protect and serve,” Bettina said. “We need to honor others, ensure equality and celebrate our differences.”

Bettina, who believes the freedom to marry will promote economic growth and stability in Arizona, is currently a partner at FirstStrategic, a prominent communications and public affairs firm in Phoenix.

Before joining FirstStrategic, Bettina worked as a regional campaign manager for the John McCain 2008 Presidential Team. She previously served as a state director for U.S. Senator John McCain.

Bettina lives in Phoenix with her three children and husband. She and her husband, Andy, are founders of the Latino Art Project, which established the Cuervo Arts Studio and Gallery in Phoenix. The studio is focused on promoting Latino art in Central Arizona.

“Arizona is a dynamic and unique place,” Bettina said. “But there needs to be a change in our marriage laws. I believe that it is only right the state recognize all marriages.”
